Thank you for dropping by. Engaging with Photography has become something very special to me, and I hope that’s reflected in what you’ll see here.
Using a camera has always been part of my life, but in the last few years, especially whilst out hiking and walking, I realised that I wanted to do more., and that was really the first step. Having purchased a basic home studio, I discovered, with the aid of willing friends, Laura and Katy, that I was capable of creating satisfying portraits, and that began to open up the genre in new and engaging ways.
With a growing body of work came the affirmation that good photography is truly an art – it’s about expressing something through the image, evoking a feeling that touches the subject and others as well. The journey over the last few months has become richer, thanks to working with my muse, Katy, and through inter-acting with other photographers who share this passion. All of this has allowed me to begin to view and understand both the approach and the wider perception of working in this field in a very fresh way – something that I hope will come across in some of what’s here. I’ve been fortunate to have already worked with people who are truly relishing the opportunity to create, and I know there’s an even greater journey of discovery in this field ahead.
I’m also very fortunate to have a very understanding husband (who allows me the time for this passion), two Springer Spaniels (often in front of the camera when I need a quick subject!) and a home in the gem that is Devon for the last nine years.
This then, is a place where I hope to share something of all this with others – with you, so, again, thank you for visiting. I hope what you find here helps enliven a hunger for the same beauty.
